The College of Engineering and Computing is located on the USC campus which is adjacent to the grounds of the state Capital in Columbia, SC. Columbia enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine annually and has ready access to both beaches and mountains. It hosts historical and cultural attractions, festivals, performing arts, and sporting events, and has parks and outdoor recreation including the Congaree National Park and 50,000-acre Lake Murray.
The College of Engineering and Computing offers undergraduate degrees in eight study areas (Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering) and three minors (Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, and Nuclear Engineering). Additionally, the College offers the opportunity to students to participate in the Accelerated Masters Program. College of Engineering and Computing graduates have a significant impact on the energy industries, manufacturing, computing, security, infrastructure, and health care across South Carolina as well as in national and international venues.
A rapidly growing college, the College of Engineering and Computing has increased our student population by 50% in the last five years, increased both the quantity and quality of our faculty, and garnered not only state, but regional and national rankings and awards.
