Distance Education Program
The College of Engineering and Computing offers busy professionals advanced degree options with classes available in two formats: Online Degrees and APOGEE, streaming video courses.
Online degrees consist of courses delivered via your web browser in 8-week semesters. Currently, we are offering our new MS degree, Engineering Management, in this format. This is the only MS in Engineering Management program in South Carolina, and one of only a few in the entire Southeast. Three concentration tracks are currently offered: general, cyber security and energy. The interdisciplinary curriculum includes courses in business, law and communication.
APOGEE, A Program of Graduate Engineering Education, classes are available through streaming video. These classes are offered in most of the College’s majors – Aerospace Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Nuclear Engineering.
Various courses are offered three times a year following a tri-semester plan: Spring, Summer and Fall. Courses available for each semester are listed on this web site.
Students in the program view their classes via streaming video provided through the University Instructional Service’s server. At the start of each semester, a password for each course is generated and distributed to the faculty. Faculty members pass on the password to all assigned students.
US News & World Report has awarded our APOGEE program “Best Online Programs Graduate Education 2013” with a rank of 28 in the nation.
